About self-registration of light and absence of it…

-Lumbrero & Don Toledo –

A short documentary-style film capturing the experience of living in a small village deep in the Mexican jungle. The piece revolves around the creation of a musical composition — a sonic journey crafted using field recordings collected over a period of five years in these very surroundings.

Don Toledo / @dontoledo, a close friend and the film’s director, spent the last four years documenting the process and the environment, ultimately shaping the material into a three-part capsule format.

– Kuxtal –

Kuxtal plays and it’s played in the unpredictable acoustics of space. Here lies an open dialogue with ancestry, always open to what is yet to come. All that remains is to let oneself be invited to this multiple journey, aware of the tentacular bond that arms and disarms us. To create, with them, this barefoot parcours, to persist in this refuge in permanent construction.

The encounter between Santiago Bartolome & Lumbrero is a deep immersion into the power of vibrations and frequencies to reach our consciousness. Through the blend of instruments, trumpet, guitar, and synthesizers create a cartography that interconnects us in the transformative potential of sound within our bodies. Acoustic records coexist with electronic resources in an updated return to the ancestral. This minimalist ambient journey in its purest and most organic form recovers African rhythms and trance beats, weaving a unique and immersive tapestry.

– Lumbrero  & Reka Fodor –

During my stay in Csíkszereda, Romania, in March 2024, while hosted by the family of my dear Réka Fodor, originally from Hungary, an unexpected creation came to life. Together with her cousin — immersed in the world of audiovisual production — we shaped this video, filmed entirely within the depths of an abandoned tobacco factory, still echoing with the past.

There, in collaboration with contemporary dancers from the Art Camp Festival of Csíkszereda, a unique synergy emerged: a visual story directed by Réka Fodor, where sound does not merely accompany, but provokes.

The result is a narrative where two worlds — dance and sound — intertwine. It explores how and when sound inhabits bodies, pierces through them, transforms them, forging connections that transcend all limits.

– Lumbrero  + Reka Fodor + Zarah Aedma –

Realm is an immersive experience set in the heart of the jungle — a shared sonic and visual journey featuring projections designed by @ignaciobruno, mapped onto the majestic stalactites and stalagmites of a cave located just 30 minutes from Tulum.

This unique setting is part of @naumtulum, a retreat villa whose core mission is the care and preservation of the natural environment.

Realm is a collaborative project created by @zarah.aedma (voice), @matiasgarciafavre (music), and @ignacio.bruno.98 (visual art).

– Lumbrero  + Carn Cruda + Santiago Bartolomé –

Collective interdisciplinary experiment exploring the intersection of visual art, theatrical performance, scenography, and original music — conceived to narrate a story about dreams and the surreal states they evoke.

This work draws inspiration from the theories of Carl Jung, delving into the symbolic and subconscious dimensions of the dream world. The result is a hybrid piece where each discipline weaves together to construct a sensorial narrative, both intimate and immersive.

The project brings together a diverse group of artists and creators:

@ignaciobruno – Visuals, graphic design, and 3D rendering:

  • @carncrua – Performer and vocalist
  • @santiagobartolome – Trumpet and sound design
  • @lumbrero – Art direction, music production, and live performance
  • @romo – Scenography and DJ set
  • @alejandrovarela – Performance
  • @crisco – Filmmaking
  • @reetina – Photography

Through a shared creative process, the work embodies the language of dreams — fluid, fragmented, and symbolically charged — offering the audience an open space for interpretation and introspection.

– MORPHEA –
